The event took place on Friday, June the 24th, a day before the opening ceremonies for the Special Olympics World Summer Games 2011, at Hilton Hotel in Athens. Hilton Worldwide’s President, Mr. Paul Brown and the two-time Olympic medalist, Michelle Kwan were the guests who formally announced the partnership. Hilton’s and Special Olympics’ representatives, athletes and media from all around the world also attended the event. Interviews with athletes and Hilton Worldwide’s representatives followed the announcement and the event closed with a Satellite Media Tour with the two-time Olympic medalist, Michelle Kwan. During the event, the photography exhibition “Celebrating Special Olympic” of the noted photographer Richard Corman was showed for the first time. People’s interest as well as their willing for participation passed the positive message of this “special” institution.
